Poor Jennifer’s Lonely Demise 01 is a haunting long exposure photograph captured at Paddy’s Hole, located at the South Gare breakwater on the North East coast of the UK. Taken on a chilly October evening, this evocative image depicts the quiet, sombre scene after sunset, with the fishing boats moored for the night. Among them, Jennifer—the partially submerged boat in the bottom right corner—stands as a poignant symbol of decay and neglect.

Once a proud vessel, Jennifer has long since been abandoned, her hull mostly gone, leaving only the front cabin area to rot away in silence. The long exposure technique emphasises the stillness of the scene, casting a ghostly, almost surreal atmosphere over the derelict boat and the calm waters surrounding her.

The moored boats and the industrial landscape of Teesside in the background create a stark contrast, highlighting the passage of time and the inevitable decline of once-active vessels. This powerful image is part of a series exploring Jennifer’s various states of decay, offering a compelling narrative of loss and resilience. Perfect for lovers of maritime history, industrial landscapes, and evocative photography, this piece adds a touch of melancholy beauty to any space.

Do you sell image prints?

We don’t sell digital image prints due to the huge variation in printing costs and print quality, and of course the huge variation in shipping costs/restrictions depending where in the world you’re located.

How do I receive my image?

Once your payment has cleared you will receive a link to download your purchase. The image/images are contained in a zip file which also contains your image licence. This licence also contains confirmation that you have full printing rights which some printers do ask for. If you set up an account during the checkout process you can login to your account at any time to download your purchase.

Can I get a refund?

Due to the fact that a digital image file is extremely easy to duplicate we do not provide refunds on purchases, so please ensure you’re happy with your image choice before you pay for it.
